It was good when it was first made. It’s almost 12 years old now. It was very creative and unique for a horror game because you can’t move. I can understand why some people don’t like it because it’s specifically a psychological horror game that plays with your sanity.
Yes challenge is a necessity but so is core gameplay mechanics which fnaf lacks, its very tedious and gets old incredibly fast, you do basically the same exact things constantly which makes it boring tedious and incredibly uninteresting
Why is fnaf popular? If it wasn't for Markiplier that boring ass shit would've never popped off "oh but the lores interesting!" F**k the lore all WE care about is gameplay and the gameplay it press a few buttons every few seconds and hope you don't die. It's boring and doesn't deserve the hype
