Fish arrives to the Echo Flower field. He sees someone he’s never met before. They have green skin and kelp hair… (unnecessary information removed for brevity)
F: Hullo. You must be Medusa!
E: that’s me alright! You are painted fish! It’s so lovely to meet you in person!
F: *blushes slightly* thanks. So um… where should we go? Would you like something to eat? I can make something for you if you want?
E: thanks Fish, but I had maki rolls before.
F: that’s alright then. So then, where should we go?
E: let’s go to the underwater town. I would like to show you around there.
F: Sure!
*Medusa and Fish swim all the way to the depths of the subterranean lake. There they come across a town with houses made out of coral and pearl. Fish recognises Anchor’s and Shyren’s houses. They swim past those and go to a large house made out of marble and red coral.*
F: Woag! Your house is so nice! Better than mine at any rate.
E: aww don’t say that, fish! I’m sure your house is nice as well!
*Flashback of the dusty room with the Fishface poster.*
F: yeah… I guess so.
*Fish and Medusa sit down opposite each other. The inside decor is full of skulls.*
F: are these real?
E (guardedly): yes. Why?
F: That’s so cool! Where did you get them?! I’ve been trying to find skulls to add to my house decor, but Plague doesn’t let me take any from his test subjects, and Dyo, pardon, I mean Mask, corrodes all of his other hosts.
E (surprised): You.. like skulls as well?
F: absolutely! I have a plaster made one, and that’s about it. I also collect bones. Papyrus often gives me a new bone every time he visits Undyne.
E (relaxed, slightly upset): This is the reason why everyone is afraid of me, Fish. I collect skulls from any human skeleton I can find in the depths. Not many, but still. It’s just… I have my own hobby, just like some collect rocks, or others collect plants, I collect skulls.
F: hey, I understand. Everyone has their taste, and I think it’s important to let people have their own taste in what they do.
E: you are the first to say that fish. For as long as I can remember, every single monster is afraid to even look at me. They flee whenever I’m spotted, and it’s tiring and upsetting as well.
F: the world may see all of us as monsters, but there are some who are far worse.
E: absolutely.
*silence for a moment*
