Oh come on Owen really? Yes unbelief is a sin however the specific sin of unbelief committed by those that perish isn't atoned for because they failed to receive the call of the Holy Spirit in their temporal lives. Remember Jesus said that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit wouldn't be forgiven in this life or the next? If someone secular or professed Christian knowingly blasphemes the Holy Spirit like the; Pharisees did when they credited the Holy Spirit's work to Satan they, by a willful act, blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Those who die in this life without receiving Jesus's atonement for sin commit the same sin by failing to receive Him while alive. There is no forgiveness for unbelief after death. Humanity is dead in sin like the prodigal son after the Fall NOT a corpse like Lazarus.
