“Islamophobia” is not real because “phobia” implies it to be irrational when Islam is an idea and belief which is perfectly valid to oppose, not part of an immutable characteristic like racism, homophobia, and transphobia
nearly all islamophobes hate it because they hate the people, they often be mad about muslim immigrants in their country or believe the stereotypes and hate islam. they rarely ever hate on the belief itself
I'm talking from personal experience. most of the islamophobia I saw on instagram came from "Muslims are terrorists/rapists etc." also the way I'm representing them now is actually be a drawback for me as I'm implying my own people are terrorists or rapists
