Gordon
(points subtly toward the back of the room, then taps the map of the base he’s holding.)
Sue (whispering to Vadrina):
“Exactly. Someone’s using their knowledge of the base. Probably someone who blends in… maybe even participates in these debriefs.”
Kira (smiling faintly, voice low):
“Quiet. Observant. Efficient. Someone who doesn’t need to draw attention to themselves… yes.”
Fork
(falls over at the far corner, drawing a few nervous glances—nobody takes it seriously.)
Scoop Dog (blasting music lightly, trying to lighten tension):
“Or… maybe it’s just me… haha! No, okay, I admit. Ice cream probably wouldn’t help you sneak data… but still—WATCH OUT!”
Sue (gritting teeth):
“Look, the point is we need to tighten internal security. No one goes off alone. Cross-check every access point. Watch logs. Cameras. Thermal scans. Anything suspicious—report it immediately.”
Cassie:
“And maybe don’t act paranoid. Subtlety is key if you want to catch a mole.”
Bibliox (nodding, still fumbling words):
“Bubble… pop… yes. Observe! The silent shadow… mum-mumble… logs. Logs of the mind? Not mind, logs…”
Vadrina:
“Exactly. Watch everyone. Some of them are skilled, some of them are deadly. But someone is here playing both sides.”
Skrunkly (bouncing nervously):
“So… like… spy cat? Or… spy cat-lizard?”
Sue (facepalming):
“Focus, Skrunkly. This isn’t a joke.”
Tiger Cub (squeaky, cutting in):
“YES! YOU SURVIVED, AND YOU’RE STILL ALIVE, BUT NOW… THE REAL GAME BEGINS! SOMEONE MAY BE WORKING AGAINST US! PAY ATTENTION! MISSIONS WILL GET HARDER, AND IF YOU FAIL, THE CONTRAPTION…”
She squeaks, stamping a tiny paw for emphasis. Everyone shivers slightly at the word.
Ducc (floating hands fidgeting):
“…I really want to know what the Contraption is.”
Kira (smiling faintly, eyes cold):
“Don’t. It’s better not to know. Focus on survival.”
Sue (to Vadrina and Gordon, whispering):
“We need a small team to monitor for leaks. Quiet, efficient, and capable. Watch who notices what, who talks too little, who watches too much. Whoever is messing with our missions will slip somewhere.”
Vadrina:
“Agreed. We’ll start with logs, patrol footage, and pattern analysis. Keep it quiet—can’t alert the mole.”
Gordon
(nods once, then begins scanning the base schematics, noting potential blind spots.)
Cassie (smirking slightly):
“And meanwhile… let’s see who makes the first move. Someone’s too careful… or not careful enough.”
Sue:
“Exactly. Observation is the new weapon.”
