Because FDR put on wage and price controls during WWII. White collar workers were leaving for other jobs. Then companies started paying for healthcare to get around it. It became an untaxed, and unseen benefit. Then it became the norm with unions and other jobs. People became unattached to the cost. Now some people think it’s a right. Socialist solutions create bigger problems for capitalism. Solution need to be capitalist solutions. Like eliminating the restrictions on the number of doctors. Artificially put on by Doctors associations.

When I was a kid? My Old Man had to first pay for any medical bills, and then submit them to work for reimbursment. (which they would scrutinize)
SURE got everybody bitching about those $6 aspirins, and folks SHOPPED for Dr.'s which kept those pricks prices in line.
