Sherlock is a weird mix bc for every good deduction there’s an equally weird one
Like in one scene he checks a prostitute’s pulse and pupil dilation in a particularly close encounter between them to see if she actually loves him. He deduces that she does, which comes in handy later.
It’s not the best written, but it does its job and also ties into how Sherlock barely feels emotions for other to the point of seeing someone’s feelings as a simple flaw in crime cases
And then there’s this part where he deduces someone is gay because he grooms his hair well
