Read it or not, but it‘s an honest rant. A tl;dr (short version) is in the comments | Politics used to mean representers of different political views convincing each other, finding compromises, and working together to make their country a better place. But this meaning is long gone. Nowadays liberals care more about demonizing conservatives, and conservatives care more about demonizing liberals. Politicians used to say things like „I agree with my opponent“ and „we should attack our country‘s problems instead of each other“, but now America is ruled by a president who would rather harass civilians with different political views than release a list of a convicted pedophile‘s victims. And the same goes for internet users: They never agree with their opponents, they just keep arguing, insulting, and end up talking to a wall. They think that saying „yeah you‘re right“ is a sign of weakness, when it‘s really a sign of intelligence. | image tagged in agreeing, politics, liberals, conservatives | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Tl;dr Politics are about agreeing and making compromises, but people would rather think that they‘re the only right ones and the others are stupid, no matter what they say.

Oh and: The lack of agreements goes for all political views. No matter if they‘re liberals, conservatives, far left, far right, they all can‘t say „you‘re right“.
