I think 7-10 days before Thanksgiving is fine. November 1st-15th feels too soon, I'd say if the month is closer to December than November 1st, you should be ready. Most people only keep up their decorations until mid January. Just think of how much longer you could keep those decorations up if you did it a bit before Thanksgiving
