I could even give it genuine plot significance too, had an idea where Collector is desperately trying to figure out how to do something and isolating himself just so he can do research, when Eggy shows up and just takes everyone to the beach even though Collector doesn't want to go, and he starts to realize that he's been overworking himself and that was the reason he couldn't get whatever the thing was to work.
