Day 27 — Pair-Up Scavenger Hunt
The island wakes to a crisp sky. Mewo floats above a map drawn in sand.

Mewo (deadpan): “Pair up. I’ll reveal the item for each pair once you’re grouped. They’re scattered randomly across the island. First team with all pairs back at base with their object wins. Ninety minutes. Go.”

Dontavious Donquavious III claps from his gilded viewing platform. The contestants pair off with nervous energy.

Item Reveal — what each pair must find

Mewo spins a wheel of talismans. When each pair announces themselves, a small holographic item appears above them — emblematic tokens:

Steve + Ernst: Silver Compass (precision)

Luigi + Golden Freddy: Glass Lantern (steadfast light)

Springtrap + Joe: Rusty Cog (mechanical trick)

Virian + Middle Finger Cat: Feral Bell (loud, chaotic charm)

Spamton + Luigi: Discount Token (Spamton’s nightmare come true)

CassiLyn + Noxor: Rune Tablet

Wembry + Blobert: Plush Shrimp (small, sentimental) — important to Blobert’s arc

Caring Individual + Gayery: Warm Blanket

Kaibi + Skrunkly: Hidden Lens

Mewo snaps his fingers. “On your marks.”

The Search
Blobert & Wembry — growth scene

They pal around awkwardly at first. Wembry’s hands shake when they approach a creek; Blobert hums encouragement.

Wembry (soft): “I… I don’t want to mess this up. I keep thinking if I move too quickly, something bad happens.”
Blobert (bright, earnest): “Blobert help. Blobert find. Blobert not let you fall.”
Wembry (half-smile): “Thank you… you’re brave.”

They crawl through reeds together. Blobert uses his bulbous body to wedge a log so Wembry can cross a slick stone. She plants the Plush Shrimp trophy into his chestplate (a tiny patch he keeps) when they retrieve it.

Wembry (eyes bright): “We did it.”
Blobert (puffing): “Me strong now. Not just blob.”

Development: Wembry’s confidence grows through small acts; Blobert becomes more than comic relief — protective and inventive.

Middle Finger Cat & Virian

Virian bounces and expects middle finger cat to be hostile. The cat, as always, is blunt.

Virian (spinning): “OKAY LET’S GO FIND OUR FERAL BELL!! I’M GONNA RING IT SO LOUD—”
Middle Finger Cat (deadpan, raising a paw): “Don’t tag me with your glitter.”
Virian (grinning): “No promises.”

They trek through the mangroves. Middle Finger Cat leaps nimbly across branches, showing unexpected nimbleness and a private patience for Virian’s mania. Virian accidentally misfires a moon-spark; the cat rolls its eyes, then pushes Virian out of the way as a twig snaps — saving her.

Virian (breathless): “Whoa. You… you didn’t have to do that.”
Middle Finger Cat (soft, for once): “I don’t like harm to kittens. You’re loud. But you’re mine now.”
Virian (genuinely touched): “Aww, kitty adoption complete.”

Development: Middle Finger Cat reveals a softer core; Virian learns she’s not alone and values steady, blunt loyalty.

Spamton — crack of clarity scene with Middle Finger Cat

Spamton and Luigi pair up (despite earlier friction). Early in the search, Spamton is rabbit-voiced and frantic — selling possible routes, shouting brackets. They get stuck in thornbrush.

Spamton (panic mode): “[[DETOUR—DEAL—LEFT—CLICK—NO]]—WE’RE LOST!!”
A thorn slashes Luigi’s sleeve. He winces.

Spamton’s face — for a low second — snaps out of glitch: he kneels, voice clear and low.

Spamton (soft, steady): “Hold still. I’ll cut it. Don’t show them you’re bleeding. They’ll think you’re weak.”
He pulls a small, worn first-aid kit from his coat — something he’s kept for a long time. He cleans the wound, bandages it, and for a flicker of a moment — he’s not the ad-voice. He’s a frightened guy who can be kind.

Luigi (surprised, grateful): “Th-thanks… Spamton.”
Spamton (back to glitch): “[[LIMITED—FIRST AID—TREATMENT—BUY]]—uh—what—”

Development: Spamton’s clear moments increase; he shows actual care under the spam mask — especially for someone who’s been kind (Luigi) or for Middle Finger Cat in other moments, hinting at deeper humanity.

Final pushes — everyone racing back

Ritual Rulers’ pair Wembry+Blobert and CassiLyn+Noxor close in on all items. Skrunkly spots Kaibi’s Hidden Lens in a thicket; Kaibi nods gently. Blobert and Wembry triumphantly carry the Plush Shrimp back; Wembry laughs — real, loud, proud.

CassiLyn: “We have two items left.”
Noxor (glancing at screen): “Router’s clear. Path is open.”

Ritual Rulers clip together their final tokens and sprint back to base with quiet determination. Across the island Big Shots are scrambling and falling slightly behind.

Steve (panting): “Ernst — get the compass calibrated and run. We can still get the lantern back. Luigi — steady.”
Ernst: “Affirmative. Sensors recalibrating.”

The Finish — Ritual Rulers clinch it

Ritual Rulers place their last Plush Shrimp and Hidden Lens on the podium just seconds before Big Shots’ frantic return.

Mewo: “Ritual Rulers — all groups returned. Winner: Ritual Rulers.”

Wembry is trembling in CassiLyn’s arms; Blobert is grinning like a child. Kaibi smiles at his sister in the distance (Virian watching from Big Shots, arms crossed, proud). For a moment, there is honest relief and a fragile celebration.

Wembry (voice like a whisper): “We… did it.”
Blobert (booming): “WE DID! ME SO PROUD!”

The Aftermath — the surge and the horror

As teams exhale and congratulations begin, the forest shudders. A monstrous roar tears out of the trees — Blobie bursts through the underbrush.

He runs — not the goofy run from earlier this week, but a tremendous, animal burst — and then, bizarrely, switches to a sudden theatrical gait: he bounds, throws himself through the clearing like a living missile, and dives straight at Ernst.

Ernst (eyes wide): “What—”
Steve (shouting): “Ernst—watch out!”

At that exact instant, an engine screams from the shoreline. A familiar chrome glint — Mercedes Benz — the sentient car who had been eliminated earlier, somehow returns. The campers’ eyes widen.

Mercedes Benz (revving its voice): “VVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMM”
It launches a ramp-like charge up a nearby dune and drives back onto the island, hitting a ramp of driftwood and performing a brutal, cinematic run-over right into Blobie’s flank — slamming into him with full force to shield Ernst.

Everyone screams.

Blobie staggers, roars — enraged — and with an animal fury uproots an entire small tree and brings it down hard onto Mercedes Benz.

There’s a horrible, grinding crash. The car’s headlights flicker, the metal groans. Mercedes Benz — the sentient car who had been an earlier casualty — had sacrificed itself to save Ernst.

Mercedes Benz (fading, engine stuttering), its voice is a dying rattle. Then silence.

Steve (shouting, horrified): “NO — GET BACK — GET BACK!”
Springtrap freezes, eyes reflecting the metallic ruin.
Virian sobs, hands over her mouth. “No — no way — Benz, you were eliminated — you shouldn’t have—”
Spamton (clear for a brief second): “He… he saved a life. Not a bargain. Not a deal. A life.” Then he goes back to bracketed mutterings.

Blobie, enraged, thrashes against the impact and the loss of his target, then snarls and disappears again into the woods, blood and motion leaving the clearing. He escapes — unstoppable, changed — while the contestants gather around the ruined car and the dazed Ernst.

Ernst (shaken, climbing out from behind a rock): “I — I’m alive. I… I’m fine.” His voice is small amid the wreckage. He is shaken but physically okay.

CassiLyn moves like a leader and pulls people back to safety: “Stand down, secure the perimeter. Check for more arrivals.”
Kaibi floats to Ernst and Wembry, placing a quiet psychic warmth around them. “Breathe. You will be okay.”

Emotional fallout

Virian (kneeling by the wreck): “Benz— I’m sorry. You didn’t have to—”
Golden Freddy (soft): “He chose. Sentient or not, that is valor.”
Blobert (quiet): “Me… Blobert sad.” He shuffles forward to place a chewed leaf on Mercedes’ hood in a small, mournful ritual.

Spamton’s glitch slashes into a single coherent thread:
“[[STOP—NO—NOT A DEAL—]] HE DIDN’T CHARGE… HE CHOSE.”
Then the mask returns. He whispers for himself: “…I wasn’t buying this one.”

Steve (grim): “We can’t get him now. He’s gone. We have to be ready. We have to… keep surviving.”
Mewo (hovering, expression unreadable): “Violence has a price. Not all choices are reversible.”

Dontavious, ever the bizarre spectator, attempts some forced ceremony: “A noble, metallic sacrifice! Truly, a majestic moment!” — and is promptly ignored.

Closing — who won & scars

Winner of Day 27: Ritual Rulers (they returned all pair items first).

Character developments achieved:

Middle Finger Cat: reveals capacity for protective instinct and loyalty under pressure; less abrasive in private moments.

Spamton: shows more frequent, haunting moments of clarity and genuine care (a human behind the spam); the team notices the cracks — and the humanity beneath.

Blobert: moves from goofball to brave protector and grows into an emotionally courageous figure (willing to risk for teammates).

Wembry: gains confidence and agency through direct cooperation; her panic gives way in moments to leadership and quiet bravery.

Tragedy: Mercedes Benz returns heroically and dies protecting Ernst. Not graphic — the car is destroyed; the camp mourns a sacrificial act.

CassiLyn (softly): “We need to bury… or memorialize… whatever we can.”
Kaibi (calm, hands folded): “We will honor him. He chose to protect.”
Virian (sobbing): “Benz… you didn’t need to do that.”

Mewo (flatly): “Rest. Fortify. The island continues.”
