The Aftermath — the surge and the horror
As teams exhale and congratulations begin, the forest shudders. A monstrous roar tears out of the trees — Blobie bursts through the underbrush.
He runs — not the goofy run from earlier this week, but a tremendous, animal burst — and then, bizarrely, switches to a sudden theatrical gait: he bounds, throws himself through the clearing like a living missile, and dives straight at Ernst.
Ernst (eyes wide): “What—”
Steve (shouting): “Ernst—watch out!”
At that exact instant, an engine screams from the shoreline. A familiar chrome glint — Mercedes Benz — the sentient car who had been eliminated earlier, somehow returns. The campers’ eyes widen.
Mercedes Benz (revving its voice): “VVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMM”
It launches a ramp-like charge up a nearby dune and drives back onto the island, hitting a ramp of driftwood and performing a brutal, cinematic run-over right into Blobie’s flank — slamming into him with full force to shield Ernst.
Everyone screams.
Blobie staggers, roars — enraged — and with an animal fury uproots an entire small tree and brings it down hard onto Mercedes Benz.
There’s a horrible, grinding crash. The car’s headlights flicker, the metal groans. Mercedes Benz — the sentient car who had been an earlier casualty — had sacrificed itself to save Ernst.
Mercedes Benz (fading, engine stuttering), its voice is a dying rattle. Then silence.
Steve (shouting, horrified): “NO — GET BACK — GET BACK!”
Springtrap freezes, eyes reflecting the metallic ruin.
Virian sobs, hands over her mouth. “No — no way — Benz, you were eliminated — you shouldn’t have—”
Spamton (clear for a brief second): “He… he saved a life. Not a bargain. Not a deal. A life.” Then he goes back to bracketed mutterings.
Blobie, enraged, thrashes against the impact and the loss of his target, then snarls and disappears again into the woods, blood and motion leaving the clearing. He escapes — unstoppable, changed — while the contestants gather around the ruined car and the dazed Ernst.
Ernst (shaken, climbing out from behind a rock): “I — I’m alive. I… I’m fine.” His voice is small amid the wreckage. He is shaken but physically okay.
CassiLyn moves like a leader and pulls people back to safety: “Stand down, secure the perimeter. Check for more arrivals.”
Kaibi floats to Ernst and Wembry, placing a quiet psychic warmth around them. “Breathe. You will be okay.”
