aita??
so my friend maria has an official anxiety diagnosis with meds and we share a vietnamese class
our vietnamese teacher is an old lady (very short and not intimidating) and she doesnt really know all this disorder stuff and basically ignored the email sent to all the teachers that maria has anxiety
and she gets rude at maria for stuff like being quiet or unfocused occasionally (the second time was last monday)
and maria was really upset at it so she went to the counsellor to vent about this teacher
but she actually like reported the teacher and made it so that the teacher has to be supervised and it kinda shocked me because it’s literally just a couple rude comments from a teacher and not worth reporting her (which could potentially ruin her career and life)
and it really puts it into perspective when you think about how maria and i only have to do viet for the rest of the year
so i told her that’s not cool because she might have just ruined this poor woman’s life and she flipped out at me saying that i don’t have as much problems as her and thus have no input (she doesnt know the slightest about me, plus all of her issues stem from her overthinking her problems since she doesnt have many) and it upset me a lot because ive always been there for here and she always tries to redirect the conversation when i even casually mention my issues, and maybe she’s not comfortable with me venting, which is fine, but she can’t assume she knows the slightest about me when she never asked me about my life
but what really matters is the viet teacher and her life
