Yeah, renovation, ya know, like some new carpets and paint, new windows, molding and curtains, maybe insulation, replace roof, etc. Renovate, is what you do when you care about something and want to make it better.
Little different than tearing the whole building down...
Obama's "Renovation" was mostly decorative, carpets, curtains and furniture. It's all documented and easily viewable with a google search. More of a remodel than anything, which most presidents do to some extent. The $376 million also came out of his own inaugural funds, not tax payer money.
Seriously, could you imagine if Obama tore down 1/3 of the WH to build a F'n obscene ballroom.
