Ooh, that’s quite interesting! I know as a kid I used to somewhat understand Cubano and Portugués pidgin in speech, but not in writing. I couldn’t write either language very well then, but it does make me wonder how written language could evolve in places like that.

Nope, I am very much American so my keyboard is set to Mexican Spanish. I’ve studied a bit of Portuguese on Duolingo but haven’t gotten far yet.
