There were no forest until I went into the left-corner of the world , the whole world was just snow (this is it a natural biome, I am playing on a 2013 Minecraft thingy)
That explains it
On older versions, when you make a world, there's a chance that it'll generate in "winter mode" which has the entire world made of snow
