It's typically recreational for cats. Plus they love eating spider plants too. Apparently it has either an opiate-like effect or an acid effect they enjoy which is why they like eating spider plants. My Angora is obsessed with pony tail palms. We had one we ended up giving him. If we'd go to water it his eyes would get big and he'd start chirping with excitement. The other 2 are content with cat nip alone or well I have a luxury mix I found. It's a mix of cat nip with other plants they like in 3 different bags. I mixed them altogether in a container. There's cat nip & silver leaf, cat nip & passion flower & cat nip & chamomile. I had a hard cat nip ball too similar to cat nip lollipop minus the stick. & cat nip spray. This mix makes them trip out. My Bombay could take or leave cat nip but even he gets crazy with it. He'll lay there in a daze. My Angora loves that chamomile blend especially & the giant like always gets the munchies & hyper. Angora insists on spider plant opiates too.🤣
