Yeah, I've heard of them actually. I'm pretty sure they just remake the Golden Age arc though, which is what the original 1997 anime adaptation was about.

If you're talking about the 2016-2017 anime tho, then yeah, both story, animation and everything else-wise, it's pretty much an objective downgrade.

I don't know if I'm missing something or not, but that's legit just the 1997 anime that some guy on YouTube turned into a full movie. You can look through this video and compare it to the anime I just linked, I know because I watched it.
