okay, but what are we talking about here because there's three different kinds of bands that different people consider "real" emo. (not a hate comment just genuinely wanting your opinion)
There's the paragraph writers who are frankly annoying who say that "real" emo only consists of the original Emotive hardcore bands from the DC Hardcore Punk scene and early Screamo/Skramz bands.
There's the people who say that "real" emo bands are the bands from that were really just early Midwest Emo like Sunny Day Real Estate.
And there's also the people who say that "real" emo is early Myspace era emo bands from the *early* early 2000's like Hawethorne Heights and Taking Back Sunday, and/or Post-Hardcore emo bands like Her Words Kill or A Heartwell Ending.
I would also like to point out that a lot of pop-punk bands like FOB and P!ATD did have a big influence on the genre
