The Buddhists answered this with a koan:
Once a bull wanted to leave an enclosure
it could get its head out
it could get its side out
it could get its legs out
but that one little tail was still stuck in the enclosure
so the bull was 100% still trapped in the enclosure
oh that little tail!
if you can’t get away you might as well have some bread
