in my househole, we have three main news outlets. The daily mail, which is heavily biased toward right wing politics (think "autism an adhd is fake" news), the guardian, which is biased towards the left wing and finally the ABC, widely regarded as the most trustworthy news outlet in australia. why? because a. it is not privately owned, the government owns it and b. despite the government owning it, they just provide funding.
my mother mostly reads the daily mail.

i mean, getting told "your brain works like this" when you only barely scrape the edge (like most do) you will start acting in a certain way. using this diagnosis as an excuse. could be a protective lie. or she could genuenly not belive in it.
