Someone raised as a man would develop to be more like a man in the brain, but the fact that there is a shift shows that there is a legitimate difference. Being exposed to the bodies hormones and environment of being raised as a man would almost certainly produce a male typical brain, but that is not the case. You cannot have a COMPLETELY female brain after being raised as a male, that’s just how it is, but taking a purely black and white stance even after seeing that there is a shift of how the brain functions is so incomprehensible that I can’t help but judge. You’re ignoring what the data actually reveals and going “eh, close enough, definitively male”. Thats not how that works.

the data actually does not show that. there is approximately a 10% overall difference between men and mtf people. the machine used for the test also did not have a ton of training data. they only used 24 of each cis/trans gender combination in the study, which is a very small amount. in addition, the machine only had a bit worse than a 90% accuracy rate overall, which makes the difference even less notable

What I’m saying is that the process in which the body develops as a gender is complicated, convoluted, and leaves plenty of room for error and variation. Chalking it up only being binary isn’t genuine to the whole process. Not to mention that psychology has consistently found that the minds of trans folks align with the gender they identify with. I’m not making it any more complicated than it already is

Development is almost entirely determined by hormones, which are determined by chromosomes. If your body cannot properly receive signals from these hormones, you will develop differently (ie, intersex people). These range from small to large differences. Hypothetically, if a brain developed more similarly to a woman’s despite their body developing male, they would be transgender. It isn’t as binary as it seems because it is so complicated, cause this is the barest of bones explanation
