In this climate, the original Psychic/Water Psycrêpe adapted by producing a sweet frosting instead of syrup. This frosting traps heat and reflects sunlight, protecting them from freezing waters.

Aurelan Psycrêpe are more grounded than their oceanic relatives, gliding low over frozen lakes rather than open seas. Upon evolving, Aurelan Mantella’s psychic aura can warm small shelters or create dazzling mirages in snowstorms to deter predators.

Aurelan Psycrêpe spends most of its life gliding over frozen lakes, feeding on frost crystals and plankton beneath thin ice. As it matures, the psychic warmth it generates becomes too strong to contain in its small body. When snow falls thick enough to hide the horizon, Aurelan Psycrêpe’s frosting hardens into a layered ice shell. It then undergoes a serene transformation into Aurelan Mantella.

The double stack of pancake-like layers on Aurelan Mantella’s back is more than decorative—each layer acts as a psychic “battery,” storing warmth for both itself and any creatures that seek shelter beneath it during harsh blizzards. The icy tail becomes sharper and more crystalline, allowing it to carve through frozen water surfaces to access food and safe waters.
