Reasoning: I want to live, I love my family, but I'm also not going to risk causing a nuclear disaster.
The people who would need cures for cancer and AIDS are going to die anyway, so killing the people making the cure (especially before the cure is made) doesn't make a difference in my view. And if the cure is already made, then double down on my choice because they've served their life's purpose.
