The Saturn and the Dreamcast especially got good 3rd party support, it was just the Saturn failed because of its dogshit launch, and the Dreamcast failed because of generally better competition, and because of overall hardware that for console standards in 1998/9, were great, but by 2001 was BS compared to the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox.

Yes, especially the fact that the ps1 versions of x-men vs street fighter, marvel super heroes vs street fighter, and MvC 1 didn’t even have the tag team gameplay, but with a 4MB expansion cartridge, you could go from the shitty ps1 version to the true arcade port of xmen vs street fighter, and MvC1 on Dreamcast had the full game its prime form, unlike the ps1 version. Honestly the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast had a gold mine, in terms of fighting games.
