it’s not to make fun of a horrible situation that some people have been in and continue to be in, but it’s to temporarily elevate it to a point where it’s more digestible for people. to elevate it to where yeah, it’s horrible, but you can have a giggle. that doesn’t make the subject ok, but it makes sense in most dark humor.
