asgore was a cop, who was removed from the force for an unknown reason. this unknown event happened after dess went missing. what if dess became the knight near asgore and cause he didn't come back with her it all fell apart for him. this would explain why he has a black shard. because the evidence would suggest that he was responsible he ended being removed from the force. do to the fact him and rudy are best friends rudy may have believed him but carol still hates asgore, hence why he has to eat outside and the only reason she even lets him in is cause of Rudy.
