But yes. It can die and not respawn

they don't die. they just faint and then arceus likely teleports them somewhere else and the player doesn't see the pokemon that fainted ever again.

Idk about the Arceus thing I think of a pokémon faints. It'll just wake up later and continue wandering around the area you found it in because it lives there

This is why most of us save before battling a shiny
