September 27, 1821
Mexico officially became an independent country on September 27, 1821, following the conclusion of the Mexican War of Independence against Spanish colonial rule. The Mexican-American War (April 1846 – February 1848) was a conflict between the United States and Mexico, primarily triggered by the U.S. annexation of Texas in 1845 and a dispute over the southern border. The war began when the U.S. declared war on Mexico on May 13, 1846, leading to significant battles and the eventual capture of Mexico City in September 1847. The illegal invaders of today want round 2. So called Native Indians have more of a legit claim then Mexicans do, but unfortunately neither have a legal deed.
