This was it.

Setuh’s dying face was wrapped in deep horror, rage, and sadness, as she saw the figure carelessly tearing her son apart. Tears were held back as her teeth grinded like clashing cymbals. Her knees and joints shook. Her hands gradually turned into fists. And with an aim to kill the entity, she whispered under her infuriated breath:

“How could you?!”.

In the meantime, the figure - whose appearance is still the same as ever with the dark robe, rotting, metallic limbs, and blood-red eyes - was scratching through the corpse’s hardware and wires. It seemed as if it was looking for something valuable. It took only a few more seconds before it found a unique object - which looked like a chip that could be used in computers and robots alike.

“Have I got good news for you, boy? Your death isn’t for nothing after all.”, it sarcastically programmed its words in the lustful, annoying voice of Data as it inserted the chip into its shadowed face, “Since my original navigation system has been severely damaged from the battle, I have been CRAVING to steal another…”

Suddenly and rather continuously, its crimson eyes blinked blue. Its insides began to whir and snarl. The entity had successfully installed the map into its systems. It let out a metallic hiss after its blinking stopped. It then whispered a “yes” to itself as it gained knowledge to navigate its way around the world.

Before it began to depart, it noticed a glimmering object inside the corpse, buried beneath more broken hardware and cut wires. It couldn’t help but to see what it really is, so it roughly dug through the supposed rubble. The figure also threw the rubbish behind him, only caring about the shining thing that put a bright interest in its eye.

At last, the figure found what it is.

The heart of Rico!

His core - a silicon sphere with colour initially assigned in steel-grey. The sphere had small holes drilled into it, with a light of exploding cyan and white erupting out of them. It had several wires and pipes attached to it. It was beautiful. It was full of life, full of joy, full of hope. It was powerful. It was vulnerable, on the verge of being stolen away. It could be used for something bigger, rather than being just some… organ-like engine to keep Rico alive.

The figure snatched the core away from the inactive body, tearing apart the wires and pipes in the process. In awe did it stare at the core - its crimson eyes flashing a small dot of blue on their pupils. It kept its gaze, until it snarled in the childish voice of Soul and interest at the core as if it was a person:

“How peculiar… My databases have no record of your inner ‘material’. This light isn’t like anything I have scanned and recorded. Perhaps, I’ll take you in and experiment on you…”

But as he turned around, he was hit by a somewhat unseeable force that thrusted its body through the blowing wind. As that occurred, the figure dropped the core, and loudly crashed a hole into a brick wall of another building.

The area became cold with thin air. Things became quiet for a long moment, until a growl of steel could be heard from the hole. Steadily, the figure’s sharpened claws had risen and grasped on the thick edge of the damage done to the wall. Up went his head in frustration, wondering who possessed such surprising strength to perform this. His grip tightened as he scanned a black entity standing before him at a long distance. His pupils then dilated; he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

The entity - covered within the freezing, grey mist - slowly stumbled towards the figure. As the mist and dust rolled away into the unknown, a dark-skinned body was revealed, with an expanding roof-like group of several straight lines imprinted on the chest and stomach shining like a wildfire in the middle of a forest. The outlines of the entity were also chrome yellow. But the outfit looked quite the same. Long trousers, long-sleeved jumper, same shoes.

It’s eyes blinding and yellow as the sun rises in the morning, it’s pupils being one large black dot, slightly shaking in undisputed rage and fear. Yellow liquid oozed off of them, as if they were the same tears that streamed down a certain mother’s face.

The figure - although incapable of feeling fear - was surprised by the unsettling appearance of its enemy. He notices its blazing tears dripping down to its chest, melting the “skin” away like acid and evaporating into the air. Its dark, violent fists trembling in small movements, willing enough to bash the figure’s helpless head into four.

“Ah… The Triangle’s wretch!”, growled the damaged figure in Astra’s voice, “So you’re back for another beating to prove your weakne-“.

Before he could finish his sentence, the figure was again pushed through the building he crashed into by the same unknown force. He attempted another crawl to stand on his talon-like toes. His vision began glitching at a continuous, concerningly rapid speed as he struggled to get a clear image of the mysterious entity who menacingly loomed over him like a gargoyle statue sitting on its tower, looking over its prisoners and victims. It was increasingly difficult to watch; the only thing he could see was a pitch black hand lifting itself up to the air, its fingers blurry yet thin as muddy sticks.

t then shot a quick slap at the air, which summoned a windy, overwhelming force that threw the figure further backwards, clattering ithrough more walls of buildings. With each sudden crash, more parts of the figure’s robes were ripped off and exposed more of his discoloured, magnesium-like skin.

A splatter of black oil poured out of the robot’s overshadowed face and onto the blood-dirt-stained floor. Steel plating had cracked and was close to being completely shattered and falling off. His back turned against the holes it collided through. As soon as it regained full sight, the figure latched onto his bleeding head, and felt the oozing fluid trickling down his diseased palm and fingers.

“So this is how far you are willing to push past your limits…”, he said with a bit of enjoyment, staring into the dying soul of the very oil that departs his half-damaged mind, “No… It isn’t… You… You’re only toying with me…”

The Ill-figured robot stumbled back on its feet as it caught sense of the entity’s eerie presence - his back still turned away. He decided not to fight back yet.

“I was told of your kind by my superior.”, he calmly said instead in Setuh’s voice, “He has seen you before, but not in such a poor state as that!”.

He giggled like a strange little girl minding her own business in an empty street. He clenched his fists and continued telling in Dynamo’s voice.

“But he has observed another weakling who turns out to be your brother. My lord was indeed CLOSE to killing him… but he - the cubic freak - transformed into a hideous, revolting, demon-like slob of a creature! Its skin was dark as the shadows that follow us yet its eyes were as bright as the sun that covers-“.

The entity had enough. Magically, the figure was flung into the sky with the flick of a wrist. He doesn’t even have a chance to finish a sentence at this point; he’s only going to get beaten to a writhing pulp. As he was catapulted, he could feel a rush of wind flowing through the surface of his metallic plates. Passing across the top height of the buildings of Turmoil city, he could observe clouds emerging from the west, covering small parts of the blue sky .

He looked down to the ground… and saw a black dot soaring at exceedingly high speeds towards him. Along the dot came an aeroplane-like chirping sound, which grew more aggressive and louder. Scanning the peculiar, vicious dot rambling its aerial way towards him, the figure took an unexpected stop in his flight.

By the time the entity got closer, its yellow outlines glowed even brighter than before as it clenched its fists. The figure noticed and clenched his too. Even though the two couldn’t properly hear each other over the howling, dashing wind, an unintelligible whisper emerged from the entity’s head as it threw the first punch against his crimson eyes.

The figure effortlessly avoided the fist and grasped a sharp hold onto his enemy’s arm. With another metallic growl, he honed his claws and stabbed the monster’s stomach. It let out a screech of pain - the screech consisting of tens of indisposed, aching voices reaching out for help. Chrome yellow tears streaming down its face fell down quicker. It’s eyes looking up in injured misery. As a reaction, it pummelled another fist at the figure’s neck. Then, it opened its hands, releasing a catapulting mammoth of a shockwave that launched the figure back to the ground.

BLAOW!

Upon making contact with the city floor, a severe earthquake was caused, shaking up a small part of the street the figure crashed onto. And a hole as shallow as his sorrowless silicon soul has been made. His vision blurred and glitched once again.

The entity zoomed down feet first onto the figure’s chest, enlarging the hole, crumbling the ground even more. The impact of the feet dug increasingly deep into the figure’s chest, damaging even more of his circuitry and hardware. Eventually, as a result of this, oil instantly splattered out of his buzzing face. His pupils contracted to half the size of a measly spider, as he felt the pain flowing through his coding.

The entity then collapsed onto its knees, with tears still coursing down its face. It looked up at the sky, thinking of the effect it had on its son’s life, and how it let him down. It gave him a promise… A promise that it would protect him no matter how dangerous the circumstances are. The promise was a disaster… Nothing more than being broken. It… No… She failed to do one thing…

She closed her eyes tightly as even more tears poured down her face. Her shoulders shuddered in deep sadness. Her head wobbled in shame; her elbows struggling to keep themselves up.

Her guard’s off.

The figure - despite his injuries - took the chance to stab against the entity’s chest with his claws until they were grabbed by the last second. Having its moments disturbed, it stared at the robot’s eyes, and hardened its grip, crushing the hands in the process. While this occurred, an unknown force fell onto his head. It almost felt as if something was slowly flattening him, and physically destroying everything he stored inside himself. He attempted a scuffle out of this, but it was just too much for him to handle. All of this pressure, all of this power. There is no way he could escape…

Or is there?

Realising that not all components of his hands were crushed, the figure desperately entered a last resort to escape the enemy’s clutches. A dangerous whizz of electricity was internally transferred from his shoulders towards his messed up palms, which next released an ascending whistle-like sound.

ZAP!

The palms then released a static shock powerful enough to paralyse the entity. The entity, screaming again, fell off of the figure, and shook vigorously on the ground; its pupils moving frantically from one area in its eyes to another. It’s tears overflow onto its jumper, before the cracked floor. Only until then did the entity lay unconscious, with its body fuming little puffs of smoke.

The figure stumbled back up, and limped towards his unconscious opponent. His hands were still crushed. However, his tasers were still intact. Damaged yet triumphant, the robot glanced at the entity’s paralysed head.

“As I was saying…”, he spoke in Rico’s voice, “As I have heard from my lord, your brother proved to be a potential difficulty.”

He laughed in a bit of disbelief, before continuing.

“Apparently, he summoned a group of large meteorites to get rid of my lord… Instead, he ended up destroying a whole city. Of course! It was hard for ME to believe the claims, but that was until I met… you!”.

He limped away, while talking.

“I thought you were nothing but a mere, pathetic member of an endangered species, deliberately wanting to be squashed under my foot… I was wrong. You proved to be something more than that, something more dangerous, something that could threaten even a town… A world itself… I felt your strength and power destroying individual parts of my data and components. I don’t think I’ll ever feel the same level again.”

He laughed again, as he escaped from the paralysed entity, after bidding it a respectful farewell. As he said, he’ll never feel that same level of strength that pushed against him in a fight as brutal as that. He’ll never get over what he said…

He continued laughing until he arrived at a spot where he would see Rico’s core again. Once his metallic giggling stopped, he stopped for a moment, remembering what he wanted the core for. Desperate to insert the ball onto his palm, his fingers twitched. He crouched down, and kept his eye on the shining phenomenon wrapped in solid, metal casing.

He slowly reached for his prize - his contracting eyes gleaming in his own shaded face. His arm twitched more. He was about to get what he wanted…
