I distinctly remember watching that as a little kid, not understanding the concept of dubbing, and being so confused. Is the rice ball called a donut? Is that a kind of donut? My tiny brain couldn't take it.
In the English dub of Pokémon indigo league (I believe that was what it was called) Brock takes out rice balls and says something along the lines of "I love these donuts, the jelly ones are my favorite"
