On July 7th 2026, five bio-chemical terrorist attacks occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area, releasing a neon green gas into the air. Those exposed to the gas would turn into zombie like specimens. However these zombies were quite slow. Slow enough that the United States military was able to set up an entire defense line around the SFBA.

However, before the United States military can proceed to bomb the f**k out of San Francisco, invaluable intel and VIPs are to be rescued from the infected zone. That's where the 1st Specialized Nuclear Biological Chemical Recon and Rescue Regiment comes in. Being a part of the 1st Specialized Mission Division, the 1st SNBCRR Regiment's job is to collect valuable data and recover individuals and items from within dangerous areas.

The 1st SNBCRR Regiment has been given 3 days to collect as much intel and rescue as many important individuals as possible. The 1st SNBCRR Regiment will have available assistance from other units, such as Ranger Infantry, Air Transport, Air Reconnaissance, Mobile Artillery, and other units in the area. Good luck.

You can choose to be a survivor, a soldier of the 1st SNBCRR Regiment, or another unit supporting the unit.

*Unknown armored vehicles arrive at the border, they appear stolen as there's a ton of black paint over the corporation's logos on them.*

RIO: "Look, it's ultimately not my decision if you can go in or not, we did not get word that we were getting external help. Let me just see what I can do."

30 minutes later.

The RIO would come back.

RIO: "Alright, General Henry Tahem has given you authorization to enter the infection zone. On four conditions however."

'185': Alright, lay them on us.

RIO: "One, you will be under constant surveillance. Two, you are to report to one of our command centers every three hours with this radio." He'd hold up a standard looking handheld radio transmitter and receiver. "Three, you are only allowed to be in areas that are 15 miles or less away from the borders of the zone. And four, if you want to venture deeper into the zone, you can only do so by accompanying a U.S. military unit. You will have to get prior confirmation to join up with a unit."

'185': Alright, fine. But if we find other squads in there, we'll venture deeper within. Alright, NightHammer 7, let's move!

*The squad does a march chant as they proceed into the San Francisco Bay Area.*

[San Jose, CA.]

For the first few miles inward of the infection zone, it was very quiet. It seemed that areas close to the border were in gun or mortar range and infected who got close were killed.

[**** ********* Files. Codename: 185. *********: ********.]

*I get my M16 out and I ensure the mag is topped off.*

Alright f**kers, no mercy on the infected. You see something undead, you put a buckshot between its f**king eyes.*

As they kept walking, they'd see abandoned or burnt cars or buildings, the occasional dead zombie, or boarded up buildings. Two miles away from the border, they'd find a mass burial ground, they'd see U.S. Army NBC units burning the massive pile of corpses with flamethrowers.

We need to go deeper in to find these people. Let's move!

Four Miles away from the border, they'd find an abandoned evacuation center, there wasn't much equipment here, they did see a human wandering through the center.

Hey! You over there!

The man would see them, he'd immediately flee.

*I look behind me and my squad in case someone or something was behind us.*

Nothing, he probably got scared of you.

RIO would talk with the soldier more. After a bit, he'd turn around.

RIO: "For safety precautions, I'll have to do a full background check on every single one of you."

'185': Alright, just don't expect much.

*The background check is not effective, as each of the codenames of '185's squad requires a five-year training course in a classified organization, because every little detail on everyone only shows the men in masks and helmets, some in fully toned shades.*

Criminal records, both national and international?

*There's nothing there.*

RIO: "May I ask where you got those vehicles from?"

'185': Our organization said we have to keep a low profile here, not draw any attention onto ourselves.

Soldier: "Suggestion, it'd be better to just do a new paint job because the current paint job kinda looks a bit sloppy."

RIO: "Quiet Corporal. Well, for security reasons, I'll have to process tons of paperwork, which might take a while. But that still doesn't guarantee your entry."

'185': You are aware we already have clearance by the United Nations, right? All we gotta do if we're denied access is just report to the UN and they'll send their peacekeepers here to do our job.

RIO: "Look, the U.S. Department of Defense is not really taking any external support. We've got the situation mainly under control. Besides, all we really need to do now is get some valuable info before we f**king glass the place."

'185': Look, I don't care who's in charge here, with how the votes went back there, it was unanimous on the all-clear. Therefore, the whole world is effectively counting on us to go in and see what's what.

They would immediately be stopped by U.S. Army Rangers a mile away from the infection zone borders.

Ranger Infantry Officer: "This is a restricted area, turn back around and leave."

*men in fully black reinforced armor would get out. They appear to be here for a pretty good reason, since they have biohazard masks, and a whole ton of ammo and space. Their bags seem to be equipped for a complete purge of viruses or pathogens.*

***: Stand down, we have full clearance to be here.

Ranger Infantry Officer: "I'll need to see verification for that."

*One of the men approaches the ranger, appearing to be the commander of the squad, and shows a letter of clearance for an organization that was whited out, but there is a codename for someone on it. 1, 8, and 5 show.*

***: I believe this'll suffice.

RIO: "He'd take out his radio. "I need some info on someone by the codename 185 . . . " He'd put his radio away. "Who authorized this letter?"

*This '185' guy pointed to the seal, United Nations have given the all-clear for this team to go in.*

RIO: "I'm going to have to have the leading General of this operation confirm and let you guys pass. We did not expect international help, let alone this early. And on the topic, what do you plan to do inside the infection zone?"

'185': Evacuation of civilians, quelling of infected personnel, aquire supplies, extra firearms, and valuables.

RIO: "We've already done several evacuation efforts. There may be only less than 10,000 non-infected individuals left in the infection. And I'm not sure a team of . . . ten . . . can handle six million infected individuals. We're planning on doing a mass 'cleanse' of the bay area in just a few days. We just need intel and samples of the infection so we better know how to proceed. And we've already got a specialized unit in the area built for this kind of situation. Also about those supplies and firearms, good luck."

Soldier: "Sir . . . I need to talk to you."

RIO: He'd approach the soldier. "What is it Corporal?"

Soldier: He'd whisper "You might wanna do a background check on these guys. These cars look stolen."
