Close... "R" Do you know what is that you are looking at? It's a gear shift pattern from a standard transmission. The better sports cars today and most cars 60+ years ago used them. It was harder for regular drivers to learn. So, automatic transmissions became widely adopted in the US -starting in the mid-1950s, with over 80% of new cars featuring them by 1957. The R is for "reverse."

It's R ... The reverse gear because in Manuel you have to put it at an angle for neutral and you have to shakeit back and forth

That or N for neutral

Because some cars have the ( emergency break) level when you fully stop to park ...
