Breaking Bad is an American crime drama series created by Vince Gilligan and broadcast on AMC. Filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series tells the story of chemistry teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston), who, after celebrating his fiftieth birthday, learns that he has stage three lung cancer and becomes a drug lord. In order to leave enough money to support his family before he dies, Walter begins producing methamphetamine with his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and enters the criminal world. The first episode aired on January 20, 2008, and concluded on September 29, 2013, after five seasons and 62 episodes.
