I'm not upset over "stripes and/or shapes of different colors arranged in a certain pattern", that's a complete strawman. I'm upset at the reason behind their addition, and the reason behind the addition to LGBTQ themes to modern video games overall. Pride month has been around since the 1970s, so why did video game developers only start to celebrate it by the 2010s? Because by then the mainstream opinion in the West was that homophobia was bad. A lot of LGBTQ people also by then had seen very little representation, and were willing to give lots of money to any gave that even had a LGBTQ theme at that point. Thus, you saw a lot of video games including LGBTQ themes a lot more. The incentive became not activism, but profit. That's also why you see so many companies during pride month making their Western accounts have rainbow PFPs, but have their Middle Eastern accounts stay with the same black and white PFP. It's proof that they don't really care about activism and pride. Companies have weaponized pride month solely to sell content.
What I would like to see more are games that either don't contain LGBTQ themes at all (because sometimes they're unnecessarily inserted and contribute nothing to the plot), or games that do include them in a constructive way. For example, if it was primarily a story game, you could include LGBTQ characters that actually have personality, are likable, and don't make their sexual orientation basically their ENTIRE identity. I think it would be a much less lazier and much better way to prove to conservatives that LGBTQ people can have actual personalities and deserve to be able to live their lives how they want.
