also for future refrence, in English, when a word starts with a vowel but doesn’t make the soft sound of that vowel (like in Europe, you would say “A European”, because it makes the Y sound instead of E. Same applies in reverse for words like “an hour”

so yeah. “a European” because it makes the hard E sound, “an hour” because the H is silent
