The Crimson Knight Regiment of 50th "Frontier" Division is the closest you will get. Designed to be a branching division of super human soldiers made up of shattered energy crystals, fused with cybernetic enhancements. The project was party funded and overseen by the ministry of science and technology. It was horrid failure, the unpredictable surges of energy either short circuited the neuro-link system, killing the subject instantly, or corrupting the link, turning them hostile against imperial science teams. The project was abandoned only a half a year later, the subject thrown onto a breaking down star frigate and fired into deep space. Of course, the grand party of the people would never invest in such nonsense, the human race need not burden itself with the idea of "super humans" after all, such ideas are illegal...they have always been illegal comrade.
