Yes, cells mutate with cancer. Can happen at any age. My heart failure was caused by a mutation in DNA (TTN 227 gene)

It was trying to kill me. First diagnosed as idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Later they found out I had a genetic mutation. I seem to be a mutant, because I keep getting skin cancers (cancer is caused by genetic mutation).
