What I mean is that just happened to me today when my real teacher was here at school today, but she went to a meeting and then I had a sub taking over the class. That's what happened.

It's okay. I guess it's hard for you to understand. Basically, sub is short for substitute. So that means specifically is a substitute teacher teaching today instead of the usual teacher you have. It's common at my school for actual reasons, to be honest.
