Assuming you invite one friend to the event

Awesome—welcome to the party, adventurers.
Here’s a simple starter setup to get your first D&D game going. I’ll keep it light and beginner-friendly:
1. What You Need
Players: 2+ (you and your friend are enough!)
One of you is the DM (Dungeon Master)—they tell the story and run the world.
Character Sheets: You can use free ones online or digital tools like D&D Beyond
Dice: Mainly a set of polyhedral dice (especially the d20)
(If you don’t have physical dice, use a free dice roller online.)
2. Create Your Characters (Takes ~15 minutes)
Each player picks:
Race: (Human, Elf, Dwarf, etc.)
Class: (Fighter, Wizard, Rogue, etc.)
Name & Personality: Go wild or silly—it’s your world
Backstory: Just a few sentences! (e.g., "I’m a runaway noble with a pet ferret and a grudge.")
Tip: Use the D&D Beyond character builder. It guides you step-by-step, no rulebook needed.
3. The Adventure (What You’ll Actually Do)
Start with a one-shot (a short story that takes 1-2 hours).
Want me to create a fun, simple one-shot for your first session?
Something like: “You wake up in a cursed village with no memory of how you got there…”
Or do you want something more funny or action-packed?
