As I’ve said before, the combat.
This is basically the controls of RE7 for a first person shooter, including the camera acceleration. That game was made for crawling and slow-moving enemies in a horror movie atmosphere. It’s a sluggish but heavy and impactful feeling of combat. Made for close encounters in hallways.
Prey has the same controls, but instead it has enemies that teleport or float around and deal damage to you at a distance CONSTANTLY and there’s nothing you can do about it. You don’t have long range weapons so you can’t fight back. And there’s no strategy to killing the enemies. Again, it’s just shooting them until they’re dead.
I think the rest of the game is REALLY GOOD, it just sucks that this combat (aka the MAIN PART OF THE GAME) is so undercooked.
