Radovan Karadžić, the former President of The Republika Srpska, head of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and commander of the Bosnian Serb Army, from 1991 to 1995. In an act of vengeance over the 1992–1995 killings of 2,383 Serbian civilians in and around Srebrenica by neighboring Muslims and in pursuit of his vision of a unified Serbian state without Muslims, Radovan Karadžić orchestrated the Srebrenica Massacre, where every male Muslim between the ages of 12 and 77 was captured, executed and burned en masse.
