A friend of mine lived in Japan for about half her life. Me, her, and some friends went out to eat a while ago and she actively refused to eat at a sushi restaurant. Not because she found it offensive, she’s not even Asian for crying out loud, but because she refuses to eat sushi in the west because it’s slop compared to in Japan
