goddam post is so long i had to use two images | it pisses me off how easily people resort to accusing people of attention seeking. you got injured? no you didnt, youre attention seeking. you're sick? no you're not, attention seeking. something wacky happened? no it didn't, youre attention seeking. you beat a game? no you didn't, you're attention seeking. something literally even slightly out of the ordinary that isn't the same shit that happens to you every single day happens and you decide to post about it? no it didn't happen. you're attention seeking. and i dont think the people who use it as a comeback realize how hurtful it can actually be. first of all, dismissing something someone says as attention seeking can be very hurtful (how would you feel if you broke your arm and you were literally crying and begging your parents to take you to the er and they just said "no your arm isn't broken, quit faking for attention") if it's true. second of all, if they actually are attention seeking, it's likely because they faced some kind of emotional neglect as a child and/or have some sort of mental/neurological condition, be it a disorder, illness, disability, or whatever else. if that's the case, being a piece of shit to them and telling them they're just attention seeking in the most harsh and venomous tone you can manage to speak in doesn't do shit but upset them and trigger an even worse response. third of all, if they were attention seeking due to a mental condition, that's likely a response that feels like an instinct or impulse and is completely out of their control. like i said before, people who are not okay in the head need help, not hatred. fourth of all, everyone wants attention at one point or another in their life, so hating on someone for it as if you've never done is hypocritical. fifth of all, even if they were attention seeking, and you wanted to "be the bigger person" (no such thing) by not giving them attention and just commenting on their image telling them theyre just attention seeking, youre still giving them attention by that. | image tagged in canon bardock | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
