In my opinion, admitting when you've done wrong isn't jack shit. Anyone can pay lip service, even if it feels like they're choking out the most bitter substance known to man the entire time they're doing it. It takes true balls to be yourself in front of people who you know damn well will hate your true self and mock you and still decide to be yourself instead of masking who your true self is just because you'll get mocked if you don't. Sure, being yourself and stuff is hard. But only cowards take the easy way out. Only cowards pretend to be someone else to appeal to others.
