Tame impala isnt so obscure but the reason why tame impala isn't cared about much is the delay between their albums. Their last album took 5 years to come out and it's been over 5 years since it came out. So they get forgotten by lots.

same thing happened to Kendrick, time between albums definitely makes people forget about a bands whole existence lol
