Hey, I get that a lot of people are calling AI content “AI slop” lately, and honestly, I understand where that’s coming from. There is a lot of low-effort stuff out there—people spamming AI art with no heart, AI-written posts that feel empty, or videos that just remix trends. But blaming the tool for that is like blaming a pencil for a bad drawing. AI is just that—a tool. It reflects the effort, creativity, and thought you put into it. People using AI to crank out lazy content aren’t showing what it’s actually capable of At its best, AI can enhance creativity, not replace it. Writers use it to brainstorm or polish ideas. . Artists use it to generate references or explore styles. Musicians use it to test harmonies or build new sounds. It’s like having an assistant who’s always ready to jam with you—but you’re still the one making the call.
And let’s be real: every new tech has gotten hate at first. People said Photoshop was “cheating.” People trashed digital music production before it became standard. Even video games were called a waste of time—until they became one of the biggest art forms of our generation. AI isn't going away. But that’s actually a good thing. We can shape how it’s used. We can set the bar higher. If you're creative, curious, and care about quality—then AI doesn't replace you. It amplifies you.
So yeah, let’s call out the lazy content. But let’s also not throw out a powerful creative tool just because some people don’t know how to use it right. | image tagged in black screen | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

the difference between ai and photoshop or game dev is that this things actually take EFFORT and KNOWLEDGE to do do. ai is literally just telling an advanced program somebody else made and it spitting out something that hopefully looks like what you want.

people who are using ai to "create things", in this specific instance art, are not only putting basically no effort into it at all, its also stealing the art of other actually talented people in order to generate it.

whereas the other tools you mentioned can be useful and enjoyable, ai generated art is theft brings the overall quality of content on the internet down significantly
