I am looking for a job right now, and lots of websites will offer to use your uploaded resume to automatically fill in the application the company needs. This is called "autopopulating" or "autofilling". It used to be a lot worse. You used to have to input EVERYTHING manually or at least copy/paste everything. But they are still not there yet. 9 times out of 10, there are still errors after the autofill, and you must fix them before the final "Submit". Sometimes, the errors are so bad that I still have to open my resume and do it the old-fashioned way (copy/paste).
