because you refer to canada as if its a person and not a country, Canada has trade relations, and realistically, the United States is simply bringing production back to the US

And that's the problem. Since the US doesn't produce as much anymore, once the tariffs are in place, there's not gonna suddenly be "more production." Things are just gonna be more expensive because the US doesn't have as many means of production, and...well, we've gotta get stuff from somewhere.
