yes and no, it's partially obsoleting one thing that commission artists do, but it also creates a new niche for professionally done art
AI generated content is already looked down on even in high quality cases in fetish content in particular since it still being visibly AI generated often turns off people

it's very clearly allowed for meme culture to progress at a much faster rate, leaving silly images only up to commissioning artists created an artificial barrier of creative content being produced and AI doing the job for them stopped that from happening

I think AI being used for image generation is helpful in fostering creativity more than it is in getting rid of it, at least with the higher quality generators like Midjourney

also ai will not be able to animate things perfectly for a very long time, and when it does people's sense of the uncanny valley will prevent that from ever being commercially successful

it's literally not that deep & AI art will become obsolete anyway, 4o already requires a lot of energy to produce just a single high quality image and drawing is economically easier
