The Cask of Amontillado is a short story about a man named Montresor who wants revenge on another man, Fortunato. Montresor feeling so extremely happy from Fortunato's jokes that he devises a secret plan to punish him. Fortunato loves wine, so Montresor tricks him by saying he has a special wine called Amontillado and needs his help to check if it’s real. He leads Fortunato deep into underground tunnels, called catacombs, where his family keeps wine and where the dead are buried. As they go deeper underground, the setting becomes darker and creepier. Montresor keeps pretending to be Fortunato’s friend, but he has an evil plan. In the end, Montresor traps Fortunato behind a wall and leaves him to die, he almost has a twinge of guilt. But alas, must have been the wind. The story is a fun filled family adventure, and the message is to kill anyone to makes you upset.
